A CASE STUDY OF TRANSPORTATION STRESS IN A PIG

A female pig imported via air was found dead during transportation. Routine postmortem was conducted and laboratory diagnoses was performed. Postmortem findings revealed that the animal was undergone injury and stress during travelling period as well as worsened by E. coli infection in all organs. Few postmortem findings included fracture of rib and puncture of abdominal cavity which could have been the trigger of weakening of animal and eventually lead to death.
