SEROPREVALANCE OF EQUINE VIRAL ARTERITIS VIRUS IN IMPORTED HORSES FROM SELECTED QUARANTINE STATIONS IN MALAYSIA (2011)

An Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for Equine Viral Arteritis (EVA), which is a respiratory and reproductive disease, in horses was conducted on a total of 264 samples collected from KLIA and Batu Maung, Penang quarantine ports. Positive antibodies against EVA were found in 8.71% of the samples. This survey was conducted to screen imported horses for EVA as well as to maintain a disease free status for Malaysia.
