FATTY ACID COMPOSITION OF SELECTED OMEGAENRICHED AND OTHER TYPES OF EGG

The interest in functional foods, including egg with healthbenefits are increasing nowadays as consumers aremore concern about healthier diets. These food productsare sold at a higher price with captivating claims to attractthe consumers. Different brands of egg enriched withvitamins, minerals and omega fatty acids (FAs) orlabelled as lower in cholesterol are available on themarket. Currently, the FA content, especially the omegaFA are not monitored. The objective of this study was tomonitor the FA content of these egg whether it’s true asthe label stated.
