It is envisaged that edible bird?s nest (EBN) swiftlet farming will be the next lucrative return livestock sector under the new Economic Transformation Program (ETP). As an agile insectivore, EBN swiftlet survive on aerial insects. In order to maintain and establish the increasing artificial swiftlet colonies, sufficient insect population or supply is a challenge to overcome. Hence, we undertook to establish insect mass production for use as swiftlet?s feed. In this study, we report the establishment process for the mass production of phorid fly, Megaselia scalaris as swiftlet?s feed.
