Issues regarding conventional method in managing pasture include high labor costs and time required to physically manage large areas of land. Implementation of Geographical Information System (GIS), Global Positioning System (GPS) and Remote Sensing (RS) technology in assisting farm level decision making is an option in managing farm data for pasture management. An approach towards precision farming in present day agriculture production systems has made it feasible to apply this technology. The ability of this technology to provide rapid field assessment and low usage of labor would increase farm productivity as well as decision making. The objective of this study is to do an assessment on the available pasture field for a more efficient pasture monitoring and information system in a systematic and reliable manner.
