Makanan ini dahulunya diusahakan secara kecil &ndash; kecilan dan ia juga adalah makanan yang sering dihidangkan orang Jawa sewaktu kenduri. Kini, produk makanan yang diinovasikan sebagai makanan sejuk beku dan siap untuk dimasak amat mudah untuk didapati secara runcit.
